Useful information for the students of the University College of Business in Prague, endowment fund (1 May 2021)

Dear students,

On 21 September 2020 the Health Authority of the City of Prague closed the premises of all universities in Prague to the attendance of students. Following this decision, the University College of Business in Prague switched to the distance form of studying for the 2020/21 academic year.

The distance form of studying at the University College of Business in Prague is carried out within the MS Teams environment according to the published schedule in the University Information System (UIS). For these purposes, you have been sent instructions regarding the use of MS Teams (they can also be found in the UIS).

Another tool for distance learning is the University Information System (especially the Document Server and Submission Office). Teachers and other school staff will also communicate with you by phone or email.

In accordance with the Rector's Measure (HERE) in the period from 1 May to 31 August 2021, individual consultations and examinations may take place at the University College of Business in Prague, i.e. in the presence of one student and one academic staff member (in this case specific confirmation or certificate). In the case of state final examinations, in addition to the affidavit, another confirmation must be submitted (see Rector's Measures).

Visits to the library and study department are possible under the conditions listed below. Upon arrival at individual workplaces, students shall fill in the Attendance List. 


Client Center:

Starting 3 May 2021 the Client Center is available to you on all our platforms, i.e. social networks (Facebook, Instagram), email: info@vso-praha.eu, phone number: +420 733 350 268 and chat on the school's website. So do not hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to help you with everything. Special cases that require a personal meeting can be arranged at the CC on an individually agreed basis or at one of the times below.

Until the epidemiological measures are relaxed, the Client Center will be open during these days:

Starting Monday, 3 May 2021, the hours of the Client Center will return to normal: MON-FRI 9-12 and 13-15.

Students and applicants must observe the following precautions when visiting the Client Center:

  • Students and applicants must not have acute health problems indicating a viral infection (e.g. fever, coughing, shortness of breath, sudden loss of taste and smell, etc.),
  • Students must not be subject to quarantine,
  • Protection for the upper respiratory tract is required,
  • Hands must be disinfected on arrival to and departure from the Client Center,
  • Proper distancing (minimum 2 meters) must be observed at the Client Center.

The library provides only the service of borrowing and returning study literature per individual visit.

It is also possible to pick up ISIC / ALIVE cards, revalidation stamps and study certificates in the library.

Measures to be observed by students when visiting the library

  • For the books you want to borrow, please inform us by email or telephone
  • Books that have been ordered or reserved can be picked up on weekdays between 9 – 12 and 13 – 15 hod (individually arranged outside these hours)
  • Please observe hygienic precautions (air filtration masks and distancing)
  • Remain on the premises of the library for only the time needed to return or pick up books
  • Observe the current measures issued by the Rector of UCB and regulations of state authorities

The due date for books that students have out now will be automatically extended, i.e. they will not be overdue while the library is closed, until the library resumes normal working hours.

Newly issued ISIC/ALIVE cards - Cards have been printed for newly enrolled students and are ready at the library. ISIC/ALIVE cards can be picked up by students during the opening hours of the library.

Revalidation/extending validation - The cards of students who have applied for a revalidation stamp and have paid for it have been extended in the electronic database (which happens continuously despite the closing of the school). The stamp can be picked up during the opening hours of the library.

UCB Study Department (https://www.vso.cz/study-department)

Dear students,

Starting 3 May 2021, feel free to contact us by phone, email or through the UIS. Visiting the Study Department is only possible via individual consultation prearranged by telephone or email. Study certificates can be requested via email studijni@vso-praha.eu. The certificate will be made available to you in the UIS – Personal management – Document storage.

Students must observe the following precautions when visiting the study department:

  • Students must not have acute health problems indicating a viral infection (e.g. fever, coughing, shortness of breath, sudden loss of taste and smell, etc.),
  • Students must not be subject to quarantine,
  • Protection for the upper respiratory tract is required,
  • Hands must be disinfected on arrival to and departure from the Study Department,
  • Students must sign the attendance sheet documenting their visit to the Study Department,
  • They must maintain distancing (at least 2 meters) in the Study Department and in common areas.

During our studies, we worked on projects where the results were then taken up by the National Monuments Institute. Many lectures were also given by external lecturers, so we learned how things really work in the world.

    She works as a Program Coordinator at Smaller Earth. In 2009, she did an internship in New York. She lived in England for three and a half years and worked for an Australian travel agency. Work never bothered Simona, so when she was given the chance to go to America to work as kitchen help, she didn't hesitate for a moment. She got experience, made new friends, and traveled around the United States with the money she earned. This opened the door to job opportunities in Spain and England. She's working today.

    Jakub Velička

    He studied aviation theory at Oxford Aviation Academy. He completed his practical training in the Czech Republic and Poland. He holds a CPL/ME/IR pilot license. As a child, Jakub dreamed of becoming a pilot one day. He faced a twisting road to it and had to sacrifice a lot. He started off by studying Marketing Communication at the University of Finance and Administration in Prague, then moved to Airline Management at UCB. To save time and money on pilot training, he started his own company. Today he is within reach of his dream.
