General description of the institution
Vysoká škola obchodní v Praze, o. p. s. (University of Business in Prague) is a not-for-profit organization, established in 2000, when it gained the state approval to act as a private higher educational institution. The first academic year was opened in 2001/2002.
The accreditation in accordance with the “higher education law“ was granted to the School in International Territorial Studies and in Economics and Management in Transport and Communications Industries.
The University of Business in Prague prepares highly qualified specialists for work in attractive service industries, offers quality education in accredited study programs in order to enable them to start their career in middle or top managements of tourism, aviation, and service businesses and further develops the existing study programs and fields of study, as well as expands the existing portfolio in accordance with the Long-Term Development Plan of the University.

Admission is governed by § 48 and § 49 Act No 111/1998 Collection of Law on Higher Education.
Conditions for Admission
Admission is on VŠO without entrance exams.

- Completed secondary education (notarized copy of the leaving examination certificate must be sent to School with the application form)
- Submission of a valid application to study in electronic form (or form SEVT)

Decisions on admission
Acknowledgement of admission including contract and other necessary information will be posted. Then it is necessary to sign the contract and send back both copies to the Registrar Office. Consequently, it is necessary to attend to enrollment for studies at the Vysoká škola obchodní. Students are required, as an official act of admission, to complete the matriculation ceremony.
Recognition Procedures and Other Regulations
Study obligations that the student has successfully completed at the University of Business in Prague or at another university may be acknowledged by the Rector on the basis of his/her request
The student is obliged to request the acknowledgement of all study obligations that he/she has completed while studying at a university abroad to which he/she was sent in the framework of study at the University of Business in Prague. His/her successfully completed study obligations are acknowledged.
